"Clothed in Christ" Children's Sermon - Galatians 3:23-29

Children's Sermon on Being Clothed in Christ - Galatians 3:23-29

Use this children's sermon to teach kids about our unity in Christ.

Needed: A piece of white cloth for each student with a head hole poked out of it, or cross necklaces for each student, pictures of different types of people (included below)

Lesson: Ask students, What are some ways people can be different from each other?

(To help them think, show them your pictures or the pictures below.) People can be different in how they dress, or what color they are, or how they do their hair, or what things they like... People can be different in lots of ways. And we're all different from each other too. None of us are the same. And that's great because God likes us to be unique and different.

But there's one way that we can be all the same too. (Pass out your cloths or necklaces and ask the kids to put them on as you also put one on. Then read or summarize Galatians 3:26-28, quoted here in the NIV.)

"So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

No matter how different we are, we are all united - we are all one - in Jesus. When we believe in Jesus, God sees and loves all of us the same. We are all God's children. No one is better than anyone else when we are all together in our faith in Jesus. We're different in lots of other ways, but in our faith, we are the same.

Let's pray about that.

Sample prayer: Father God, we thank You for making all of us different, and thank You for loving us all the same and making all of us united in Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
